Mary-

Here is part of the bee's nest I was telling you about.

I let the dogs out the other morning and a bunch of little bees were swarming around. I bent down to look under the deck and there was a huge bees nest. I got the bee spray and killed it. Tons of bees came out and inside were two cones that looks like this. I thought it was really cool!!!

Few more pics

Couple of pics of the tiny frogs. The pics don't show just how tiny they are. The pic in the previous post of the fish are tiny baby catfish.

I have been busy re-doing our schoolroom the last few days so today the boys and I went to the pond to fish. With the heat we have had a portion of the pond was dried up and fishing was no good. We had fun puttin' around on the boat. We found thousands of tiny baby frogs also. They were everywhere!!!! It was really kind of cool. The boys wanted to take some home, but I said no! Normally I would let them, but they aren't taking care of their cat, dog, or rats so alas NO frogs.

Fly fishing on the Coeur d' Alene River

Tucker was being a good citizen and helping the rafters that got high centered in the river. What a good boy!!!
When Rusty and I were dating we used to go hiking, driving, fly fishing, whatever all the time on the weekends. We haven't done it is years. I decided that is sounded like a really good idea to go hang out for the day and everyone agreed. It was a beautiful day and I think everyone enjoyed themselves. There were tons of people floating the river and by the time we left we were kicking ourselves that we didn't bring the raft. That will have to be another weekend. On the way home we saw a baby moose crossing the road. They are such cool creatures. I wanted to get a picture and of course we slowed down so it could cross, but some yahoo decided to pass us and scared the moose and ruined my picture. Bummer!

Camping pics on the Clarkfork

This is the first crayfish that Josh caught on his own.

The boys caught about 30 crayfish the first day there. They had this cooler stuffed full. We took them back to the cabin and cooked them up. The boys tried them, but didn't like them that well. They ate a couple. Ethan had a great time chucking the ones that they decided not to cook down the bank back into the water.
Ethan with one of the larger crayfish. At one point Ethan took one of the big crayfish and put it's claw near another smaller crayfish. The big one took his claw and crunched the smaller ones head off. It was nasty!!!
Ellie and Terra's dog, Dexter playing in the sand. Terra has two Yorkie puppies that she brought camping. The dogs had a great time playing and were constantly covered in sand, sticks, etc.
Tucker playing in the sand. He really wasn't into catching the crayfish. He just wanted to build in the sand.

The first crayfish!
This is the first day there. We crossed the big railroad bridge and walked to the other side of the river where the boys could get into the water. The Clarkfork moves pretty fast and drops off fast in spots so we tried to find calmer area for the boys to play in.
This is a picture of the bridge from where we where playing.
Walking back across the bridge. You can kind of see in the picture where there is a walkway next to the tracks. It was still rather scary walking across hoping a train didn't come while we were on the track. It was a dizzying experience looking down while walking across.

Picture looking down at the water from the bridge.
We had a really fun time with Terra, Andrew, and Josh. We are hoping to make this a yearly event. Tucker has found a new singing partner in Terra and have already planned out the songs for next year. Hopefully we can work on our scary stories before next time- we had scary story night but that was a flop. LOL

Camping again

Well we picked up Ethan from his dad's this a.m and we are off on another camping trip. We are going to St. Regis to go camping with my cousin, Terra and her two boys. We are taking 4 dogs with us also so it should be an entertaining trip. Terra has two yorkie puppies! The guys are being left at home for this one. I will post camping pics when we get home.

More puppy pics

Do you think he likes the puppy?

Tucker made Ellie a sock on a string to play with. She loves to attack it. She was biting my feet, which is rather painful with sharp puppy teeth. She is so much fun. She loves to snuggle. Yesterday she joined me in the garden while I pulled weeds. She would attack the moving plants. She finally curled up and fell asleep under the lilies.

Sickies

This is how Tucker wakes up most mornings!

Well Rusty was sick on Thursday and now Tucker has it. Poor little guy woke up at 3:30 throwing up. Thankfully he made it to the bathroom this time. He was up several times during the night! Hopefully it is a quick flu and he is better soon.

More pics

This was the patio that had the hot tub under it. We sold the hot tub and the picnic table is there now. Rusty built the bar that runs across the side for putting food or sitting at. I am in the process of painting it green to match the house and shop. You can see the red post in the back.
My new garden shed I got off Craiglist for cheap and restained it. The dirt there is where the trampoline used to be in the ground.
This is off the back deck. The boys and I built the fence all my ourselves. Tanzy is now confined unless someone lets her out the front door and then she is history until she decides to return. The white rose to the right smells so yummy!!
Well that is some of the landscaping we have done this summer and last. I am sure I will find more to do. LOL

Wendy- landscaping pics for you!

view of the front lawn edging. He is here finishing it as I type.
Front of house, unfortunately my clematis are not in full bloom because I moved them and they did not do so well. It least they are alive.
We moved the fence back and so I add more rock and made it a nice place to sit and have my coffee in the morning. I am quite proud of myself as I didn't know that I could do fencing. Rusty helped me dig holes and set the new posts on this one.
Close up of my coffee area!

Rusty's new re-sided shop. Gone the the ugly blue one. Yeah!!!
