We got to Maui a little after 2 on Thursday. It was low 80's and windy. I cannot believe the wind here. Our condo is nice, but view makes it awesome.
By the time we got our car, food at Costco, and unpacked we didn't have a lot of daylight left so we just drove down S. Kihei and found some dinner. I wasn't very impressed with the food, but the view was nice. The sunset was amazing and of course the guys could have cared less because all they wanted to to find the food.
Friday we decided to just hang out and wander. Since we really had no idea where we were going or want to do we drove and ended up in Lahaina. We stopped at beaches on the way and walked looking for shells and glass. When we got to Lahaina we ate at Bubba Gump's. That was fun and good food. We sat at a window seat looking out at the ocean. They said there was whales out, but I didn't see them.
Picture wasn't very good because of the sun behind us. Great food and fun place. We wandered shops most of the afternoon and then came back and had steaks at the condo.
Saturday we got up early so we could head to Hana. It is a long drive with lots of turns and narrow roads. We stopped and got coffee's for the road and headed out. Our first stop was at a roadside coconut stand.
I love coconut and have been looking all over for a coconut stand that sold the drinking coconuts. It was delicious.
We made many stops on our drive to Hana and saw beautiful landscapes. The weather was awful at times, but that was okay.
