This is the first crayfish that Josh caught on his own.
The boys caught about 30 crayfish the first day there. They had this cooler stuffed full. We took them back to the cabin and cooked them up. The boys tried them, but didn't like them that well. They ate a couple. Ethan had a great time chucking the ones that they decided not to cook down the bank back into the water.
Ethan with one of the larger crayfish. At one point Ethan took one of the big crayfish and put it's claw near another smaller crayfish. The big one took his claw and crunched the smaller ones head off. It was nasty!!!
Ellie and Terra's dog, Dexter playing in the sand. Terra has two Yorkie puppies that she brought camping. The dogs had a great time playing and were constantly covered in sand, sticks, etc.
Tucker playing in the sand. He really wasn't into catching the crayfish. He just wanted to build in the sand.
The first crayfish!
This is the first day there. We crossed the big railroad bridge and walked to the other side of the river where the boys could get into the water. The Clarkfork moves pretty fast and drops off fast in spots so we tried to find calmer area for the boys to play in.
This is a picture of the bridge from where we where playing.
Walking back across the bridge. You can kind of see in the picture where there is a walkway next to the tracks. It was still rather scary walking across hoping a train didn't come while we were on the track. It was a dizzying experience looking down while walking across.
Picture looking down at the water from the bridge.
We had a really fun time with Terra, Andrew, and Josh. We are hoping to make this a yearly event. Tucker has found a new singing partner in Terra and have already planned out the songs for next year. Hopefully we can work on our scary stories before next time- we had scary story night but that was a flop. LOL
