30 days of blessings

I am kind of adopting this idea from a friend that I haven't talked to in years. She has a 30 days of wonder on her blog. So I am going to try a 30 days of blessings. During a mostly sleepless night I decided I need to FOCUS on the positives in life instead of all the things that don't go right and tend to just bog me down in a case of the grumpies. So starting today (and I will try to blog something each day), I am going to write one thing that is a blessing in my life.

Having the ability to exercise!!! Even though I don't always want to I am thankful that I have a healthy body that allows me to.

Vacation Day

We decided to take today off and work a day next week (official Spring Break). Tuesday is such a hard day when Ethan gets home from his dad's. The boys have a very hard time settling into the work day so we figured we would just have a playday. They talked me into playing Risk. I have watched them play but haven't tried it myself. Ethan dominated the world!!! I told him I will whoop him next time, now that I understand how to play. We went to the Shell and bought snacks and watched t.v. It was a pretty quiet day, but enjoyable. Tomorrow it is back to work.

Schweitzer

Kylee, Ethan, and Tucker sitting at the base of the jump. They ended up crawling up to the top and then boarding down the other side. Ethan made it, but Mom and I could see Kylee with her board in the air and her on her back. HEHE!!
Ethan and Tucker. Tucker had wiped out.

That is one cool dude!!!

Schweitzer was a blizzard today. The skiing was good, but cold. Mom and I stayed in the lodge while the guys and Kylee boarded. Mom brought her beads and tried to make a braclet. It never got finished though. People were stuck it the parking lot there was so much snow. It was fun though.
Mom was amusing as usual. Her beads fell on the ground in the lodge and her and a kind little boy picked them up and then she landed on her bumm on the way back to the car. She is our comic relief on these family outings. Love you MOM!!

Shopping

The boys and I went to town today to get me some new tennis shoes. Well I got new tennis shoes and the boys got new snowboarding stuff. The boys each got new boards, bindings, and boots plus Ethan got new snowpants for his early birthday present. I bought new boots for Rusty and he is going to use the old board. Thanks Mary! I purchased a wax kit and Rusty and Ethan waxed the old board. We'll see how that works tomorrow. I couldn't pass up the good deals on the snowboarding stuff!!! I will try to post some pictures tomorrow.

Beading

We got our magnetic beads today and the boys couldn't wait to rip into them. After we got the order separated we went to work. Ethan took to it with his usual gusto when he has a project and whipped out 3 neckalces in no time flat. Tucker was close behind him. I made and re-made my necklace till I was happy with it. I drove Ethan crazy!!! I was fun, but I need to order more beads.

This is my necklace (it looks better in real life), a matching braclet, and Ethan and Tucker made me a batching anklet too.
This was Tucker's fate while I was finishing beading. He actually enjoys it when his big brother tortures him. WEIRD!!!

Ethan's 3 creations. The yin/yang necklace has little 8 balls on it too, but you can't see them in the picture. They all turned out great.

The boys at work!!!

My necklace on! It still doesn't look as nice as it does in person. The gold doesn't photograph very well or the diamonds. The camera always glares!!!

Tucker with his choker on.

A friend sent me this joke today. Thanks Maria!!

A Little Christian Humor

This is one of the best clean jokes I've seen in awhile!

Jesus and Satan were having an on-going argument about who was better on
the computer. They had been going at it for days, and frankly God was tired
of hearing all the bickering.

Finally fed up, God said, 'THAT'S IT! I have had enough.. I am going to
set up a test that will run for two hours, and from those results, I will
judge who does the better job.'

So Satan and Jesus sat down at the keyboards and typed away.

They moused.

They faxed.

They e-mailed.

They e-mailed with attachments.

They downloaded.

They did spreadsheets!

They wrote reports.

They created labels and cards.

They created charts and graphs.

They did some genealogy reports .

They did every job known to man.

Jesus worked with heavenly efficiency and Satan was faster than hell.

Then, ten minutes before their time was up, lightning suddenly flashed
across the sky, thunder rolled, rain poured, and, of course, the power went
off.

Satan stared at his blank screen and screamed every curse word known in the
underworld.

Jesus just sighed.

Finally the electricity came back on, and each of them restarted their
computers. Satan started searching frantically, screaming:

'It's gone! It's all GONE! 'I lost everything when the power went out!'
Meanwhile, Jesus quietly started printing out all of his files from the past
two hours of work.
Satan observed this and became irate.
'Wait!' he screamed. 'That's not fair! He cheated! How come he has all his
work and I don't have any?'
God just shrugged and said,

JESUS SAVES....

Speed Limits

Yesterday wasn't my best day. My highlight was the kind cop not giving me a ticket. On our way to Aikido I took McGuire, which used to be 45 mph. I passed a cop and looked at my speedometer (47). No big deal! I had driven quite a ways when I see flashing lights behind me. I thought what the heck, I stopped at the light and the road I was on at this point was 45 and I hadn't even hit 45 yet. So the cop tells me I was going 50 in a 40 on McGuire. I apologized and explained that I thought it was 45 and my speedometer read 47. He gave me a warning thank God. I did have him doubting himself and he was going to go check the sign. On the way home I checked and in my bad mood apparently missed two signs saying 40. That cop probably took one look at me and thought "this poor thing can't handle a ticket today." So the saying "God never gives you more than you can handle" has to be true cause I think I would have completly lost it if I had gotten a ticket.

Aikido

Ethan and Tucker have decided they want to do Aikido. We are going to try it for a while. Ethan is in the back of the picture on his knee trying to flip Godwin. The bummer part is Tucker's group is before Ethan's so it is a long night. They seem to enjoy it though. I will have to bring my other camera next time cause my phone doesn't take the best pics. I didn't get any pictures of Tucker.
